Boxing classes here fall into three groups: skill classes that teach you to box, fitness classes that use boxing for conditioning, and youth classes built for kids and teens. Every one is coached in person.
Skill classes
Beginner boxing classes teach stance, footwork, the straight punches and basic defense. Adult Boxing builds combinations and pad work. Advanced Boxing adds speed and power drills and sparring preparation. Amateur boxing training adds supervised sparring for those with a solid base.
Fitness classes
Cardio boxing classes are non contact bag rounds and conditioning. Bootcamp and Strength and Strike are circuit classes in the fitness center. These suit anyone who wants the workout without the contact, including people using boxing for weight loss.
Youth and community classes
Kids boxing classes cover ages 6 to 12 and are strictly non contact. Teens aged 13 to 17 follow the teen boxing program inside the regular classes. Boxing classes for women run three times a week in a women only room.
Muay Thai
Our Muay Thai classes teach kicks, knees, elbows and clinch with the same coaching standard as boxing. Many members train both.
How often to train
The CDC recommends adults get 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week, and children aged 6 to 17 get 60 minutes every day. Two or three boxing classes a week meets the adult target for most people.
Class sizes and coaching
Classes stay small enough for the coach to correct each person by name. That matters most in the first month, when stance, guard and footwork are being built. Every class is coached in person by Tim Witherspoon Jr. and his staff, never by a screen or a recorded workout. If you prefer one to one attention, boxing personal training is available seven days a week.
