Boxing personal training is worth it when you want faster progress, a specific goal, or to learn privately. One coach watching only you catches the small habits a group class cannot.
Who gets the most from it
- Nervous beginners who would rather learn the basics without a room watching.
- People who have plateaued in group classes.
- Amateur boxers preparing for a bout on a specific date.
- Busy schedules that cannot fit fixed class times.
What a session includes
Most sessions run 45 to 60 minutes. The majority is pad work, where the coach calls combinations, corrects technique in real time and adjusts the pace to you. Sessions can also include footwork drills, defense work and conditioning.
How a block of sessions is planned
- An assessment session to see where you are.
- One clear goal for the block: fundamentals, fitness or fight preparation.
- Pad work and correction in every session.
- A review against the goal, then the next block.
Who coaches you
Sessions are coached by Tim Witherspoon Jr. and his staff. Tim fought professionally with a record of 10 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw, and worked as a personal trainer before opening the gym. Meet him on the coach page.
Combining it with classes
Many members do one private session a week alongside two group classes. Group classes keep you consistent; private sessions fix what the group cannot. See all boxing classes or the amateur boxing training program if you plan to compete.
The CDC recommends adults add two days of muscle strengthening to their weekly activity. Boxing personal training can include that strength work, so one session does double duty.
Pricing and booking
Boxing personal training is priced on request, because it depends on how many sessions you book and what you are preparing for. Call (215) 458-8773 or use the form below, and a coach will call you back with times and package options.
Semi private sessions
Two people can train together in a semi private session. It works well for couples, friends at a similar level, or two amateurs preparing for bouts around the same time.
