Boxing Classes

Your Free Class, Step by Step

  1. Arrive ten minutes early. A coach greets you, shows you the space, and answers questions.
  2. Get wrapped and gloved. Wraps explained, gloves handed to you.
  3. Group warm-up. Skipping, mobility, light shadow boxing. Around ten minutes.
  4. Technique block. Stance, guard, jab, footwork — taught slowly.
  5. Bag rounds. Apply what you just learned while coaches correct you.
  6. Pad work. One-on-one with a coach calling combinations.
  7. Conditioning and cool down. Core work and stretching.
  8. Chat afterward. No sales pitch. Ask anything you want.

What to Bring

That is the whole list. Our guide on what to wear to a boxing class covers it in more detail, though honestly whatever you already own will be fine.

The Worries That Keep People Home

The WorryThe Reality
“I’m not fit enough”Nobody is at the start. You work at your own pace.
“I’ll get punched”Beginner classes are entirely non-contact.
“Everyone will be experienced”Most of the room started within the last year.
“I’ll be pressured to join”You will not. Come, train, leave. That is genuinely it.
“I don’t own gear”Gloves provided. Bring trainers and water.
“I’m too old”Members range from teens to people in their sixties.
“I’ll look stupid”Everyone is focused on their own round, not yours.

That last one stops more people than all the others combined. It is worth knowing that every single person in that room felt exactly the same on their first day.

Why We Offer the First Class Free

Simple: boxing is difficult to describe and easy to experience. No amount of reading conveys what a three-minute round on the pads feels like, or how quickly a room full of strangers becomes familiar. We would rather you find out than take our word for it.

It also filters honestly in both directions. Some people try it and decide it is not for them. That is a perfectly good outcome, and far better than a membership nobody uses.

Boxing Mouthguard Guide

Coached by a Championship Family

Our staff is led by Tim Witherspoon Jr., and the Witherspoon family has competed at the professional level since the 1970s. Even in a free class, that is who is watching your technique.

Read the full story on our about us page, or see the room in our gallery. This is a genuine boxing fitness center — a competition ring, a strength room, and a wellness space, not a studio with a bag in the corner.

What Happens After the Free Class

Free Boxing Class in Bristol PA-You go home. That is it. If you enjoyed it, we will talk about options. If you did not, no hard feelings and no follow-up pressure.

If you do continue, our boxing training for beginners pathway builds from stance and guard through combinations, defense, and eventually optional sparring. Our youth boxing classes follow the same structure for ages 6 to 12, non-contact throughout.

One class a week already contributes meaningfully toward the CDC’s recommendation of 150 minutes of moderate activity plus muscle-strengthening work weekly. Two or three classes covers it comfortably — which is why boxing and fitness suit people who have never stuck with a gym before. The American Heart Association similarly highlights the cardiovascular benefits of interval-style activity, which is exactly what a round-based class delivers.
