Boxing classes for women give you real technique, practical self defense and a hard workout in a room of women training toward the same goals. You need no experience, and no class involves sparring.
What a class looks like
- Warm up. Footwork and mobility.
- Technique. Stance, guard and punches, corrected by the coach.
- Partner drills. Controlled, non contact timing and distance work.
- Bag rounds. Conditioning at your own intensity.
- Cool down. Stretching and a short recap.
Boxing as self defense
Boxing teaches the parts of self defense that matter most: keeping your hands up, managing distance, moving your feet and staying calm under pressure. It is not a substitute for situational awareness, but it builds real physical confidence.
The fitness side
A 60 minute class mixes vigorous intervals with recovery, which counts toward the CDC target of 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week. Members most often mention upper body strength and stress relief as the changes they notice first.
Class times
Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM, and Saturday at 11:00 AM. If you prefer a mixed room, beginner boxing classes run six times a week, and cardio boxing classes suit anyone who only wants the workout.
Getting started
Bring athletic clothes and water, and borrow our gloves. Your first class is free, and you are welcome to bring a friend.
Common worries, answered
- I am not fit enough. That is the normal starting point. You choose your intensity every round.
- I will be the only beginner. Every class has beginners, and the coach pairs people sensibly.
- Will I get hurt? Partner drills are controlled and non contact. Sparring is a separate class you can ignore forever.
- I feel awkward in gyms. That is exactly why the women only sessions exist.
